For those who prepare to apply for ISO 50001 applicants and ISO 50001 certified clients, please note that we have implemented ISO 50003:2021 since late July 2022.

For those ISO 50001 certified clients, please note that in accordance with clause B.5.8.3 of ISO 50003:2021, “… the client organization shall inform us about the closure of any of the sites covered by the certification. Failure to provide such information shall be considered by the certification body as a misuse of the certification.”

Certified clients to Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001:2018) shall pay special attention to the requirements of:

  1. Clause G8.5.3 & G9.6 of IAF MD22:2018

  2. Clause 1 “Serious Incident” in Appendix A of Technical Circular No. 03/2016 published by Civil Engineering and Development Department

  3. Clause 5.5 & 5.7 of  document HKCAS SC-07 Issue No.5 dated 26 March 2018 which is published by the Hong Kong Accreditation Services as “Accreditation Programme for Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification”

  4. Definition of “Serious Bodily Injury” form Occupational Safety and Health Ordinace Cap 509 Part 1 Section 3

Key factors in estimating the duration of audit to ISO 50001:2018 :

  • Annual energy consumption
  • Number of energy sources
  • Number of significant energy uses
  • Number of energy management system effective personnel
